Intellectual property rights underlined by legal community

Jointly initiated by departments under Shenzhen Qianhai Authority, Shenzhen Qianhai Cooperation Zone People’s Court and other institutions in the Qianhai legal community, an experiential event highlighting intellectual property rights (IPR) was held at the China (Shenzhen) Intellectual Rights Protection Center on April 23 and attended by some 30 representatives from science, financial and incubating enterprises in the cooperation zone.

To mark the upcoming World Intellectual Property Day, the event included a briefing tour of the center and covered topics such as the status quo of IPR protection in Shenzhen. Several lectures were also given by judges and procurators on copyright protection, infringement counteracting, brand building and the like.

Attendees also exchanged ideas during the tea talk session, casting light on how to cope with copyrights and trademark rights protection issues in cross-border enterprises and startups, and how to protect business secrets from leaking while dismissing an employee.

Through attending such experimental events, enterprises in Qianhai can gain more connections with legal support on IPR-related issues offered by the relevant legal community, and have their awareness of IPR protection and risk control underpinned. (Wang Haolan)
